Micropore Tape for Professional Eyelash Extensions
Micropore tape is an indispensable tool in every lash stylist's kit. It is primarily used to secure eyepads against the lower lashes or to tape up the eyelid during treatment – creating a clean working field and better access to each lash. The tape is breathable, skin-friendly, and provides sufficient fixation without causing irritation upon removal.
Areas of Use
The tape is suitable for several techniques within eyelash extensions:
- Over eyepads: Place the tape over the pad to keep the lower lashes separated and accessible throughout the treatment.
- Taping the eyelid: Lift the skin at the eyelid for better visibility and more precise application of each extension lash.
- Combination with gel eyepads: Often used together with gel eyepads for maximum comfort and secure fixation during treatment.

Techniques and Safety Tips
Reduce tackiness before application
Apply the strip to a clean, dry surface – such as the back of your hand or a plastic sheet – before attaching it to the client's skin. This significantly reduces the tackiness, ensuring the tape causes much less discomfort when removed after treatment. This step is especially recommended for clients with sensitive or thin skin around the eyes.
Avoid contact with glue
Cyanoacrylate glue reacts strongly with cotton and other fibrous materials. Ensure that the glue never comes into direct contact with the tape. If the tape is used directly against the lower lashes without an eyepad – be extra careful during removal and work slowly to avoid pulling out lashes. Use an oil-free remover if necessary to dissolve adhesive residues before removal.
Removal after treatment
Remove the tape in a smooth, slow motion parallel to the skin. Never pull straight out – this increases the risk of discomfort and skin irritation. Feel free to moisten the edge of the tape slightly with a lint-free applicator if needed. Always check that no lashes are stuck in the tape before pulling it off completely.
Choosing Pack Size
Micropore tape is available in four pack sizes tailored to your needs and consumption:
- 1-pack: Suitable for trying out or supplementing an existing kit.
- 3-pack: Suitable for active stylists with regular consumption.
- 5-pack: Cost-effective choice for salons with multiple technicians.
- 10-pack: Optimal for high volume and reducing the risk of running out between orders.
Storage and Durability
Store the tape in a dry and dark place, preferably in its original packaging. Avoid humid environments that can negatively affect the adhesive layer. Check that the stickiness has not deteriorated before each treatment – tape with too little adhesive will not secure the pad correctly and may disrupt your work. Properly stored tape lasts a long time and retains its properties treatment after treatment.
