Main activated carbon filter for point extraction
The main filter is the central filter unit in your point extractor and is responsible for capturing vapors and particles from glues, PMU liquids, and other chemical substances that occur during treatment. With an activated carbon layer, harmful vapors are effectively neutralized before the air is recirculated in the salon – protecting both you and your clients during every session.
Technical features
The filter is constructed of sturdy corrugated plastic with a fine-mesh metal screen that holds the carbon filter material in place. The rectangular shape is designed to fit directly into the point extraction unit’s filter compartment without tools or modifications. The activated carbon in the filter has a high adsorption capacity and is effective against organic solvents, cyanoacrylate vapors from lash glue, and liquids used in microblading and PMU.
Specifications
- Material: Corrugated plastic with fine-mesh metal screen
- Filter type: Activated carbon (adsorption filter)
- Recommended replacement interval: Every 12 months for normal salon use
- Fits: Standard point extractors
When should the filter be replaced?
Replace the main filter at least once a year – under high load, for example if you work with lash glue and PMU daily, a shorter interval of 6–9 months may be appropriate. Signs that the filter needs to be replaced include a noticeable decrease in extraction power or if you can smell vapors even while the extractor is running. Keeping the filter in good condition is a fundamental part of maintaining a healthy work environment in the salon.
Why activated carbon?
Activated carbon is the most effective filter material for adsorbing chemical vapors in salon air. Unlike standard HEPA filters, which primarily capture particles, activated carbon binds gaseous substances at the molecular level. This makes it particularly suitable for work with cyanoacrylate-based lash glues and pigment liquids for PMU and microblading, where vapor formation is unavoidable.
Combine with the right point extractor
For best results, the main filter should always be used together with a functional point extractor. See our range of point extractors and accessories to find the right unit for your salon. You can also browse other spare parts and consumables to keep your equipment in top condition.
The right air quality – a professional responsibility
A well-maintained work environment is crucial in a professional salon. Vapors from glues and PMU liquids can eventually irritate the airways and eyes if not handled correctly. Regular filter replacement is a simple and concrete measure that makes a big difference to the daily work environment. Plan filter replacements as part of your salon's routine maintenance – just like changing needles, cleaning instruments, and replenishing consumables.
